  1. Stretch beforehand and warm up. Most errors committed by first-timers, and even frequent gym goers, is forgetting the stretching period before the actual exercises. Muscles can be shocked upon immediate exposure to strenuous activities and it can contribute to the long healing process. In severe cases, it can cause injuries.
